Our team of expert designers, draftspersons and fabricators can turn your ideas into reality, using the latest CAD technology (including 3D), high quality materials and a range of finishes. We can also combine materials in our designs to meet your exacting demands.
We also have excellent working partnerships with craftsmen who are expert in a range of other materials (e.g. castings, wood carving, stained glass) and would be happy to coordinate your project to provide you with a simple hassle-free solution.
Something often forgotten, but a lot of architectural metalwork, such as staircases, must be CE marked, because it is structural in nature. In such circumstances, your chosen fabricator must have CE certification for design, otherwise you (the client) must get the product fully designed up-front before asking them to manufacture it. You must take on full liability and responsibility for the structural elements and the fabricator CANNOT apply their CE mark to the connections. Read more about this in our specially commision report - CE Marking: Are you breaking the law?We can design, fabricate and install a wide range of balustrading, railings and gates. We work in mild steel, stainless steel and glass and offer a range of finishes including primed, galvanised and powder-coated and Warm-to-Touch(TM).
As well as supplying popular brands such as Q-Rail, we are able to offer alternatives, with identical performance and appearance but at a considerable cost-saving.
Our knowledge and experience of designing and installing to Building Regulations is second-to-none, and as required of us under CDM, we will work with your other sub-contractors, designers and architects to ensure your project is fit for purpose for everyone.
A staircase does not just have to look right and conform with Building Regulations, it also has to FEEL right. It has to feel right to the people using it, otherwise they will be uncomfortable using it, hesitant and more prone to having an accident. This is most obvious where a staricase changes direction and the relationship between tread, handrail and user becomes critical.
Our decades of experience designing and fabricating staircases in a wide range of materials means we really understand how to make a staircase feel right. They way in which the staircase flows, especially as it transitions from one raking to landing, the foot fall pattern the user will take moving around a corner and the interaction of the staircase with doors, windows and other furtniture are all factored into our designs.
Balconies combine structural and architectural elements - one part designed by the project's structural engineer, the other by the project architect: that means they need to be CE marked. Because Dorabridge Design & Build Limited are one of the few companies in London and the South-East legally certified to design and manufacturer structural products, we are ideally suited to delivering your complete balcony solution and CE marking it.
